Amanda is a nonprofit development professional with nearly two decades of experience helping dozens of organizations reach their fundraising potential. Her expertise is in building fundraising infrastructures as well as developing strategies for donors across multiple giving channels.
Amanda began her career in candidate fundraising, working closely with members of Congress in high-profile nationally funded campaigns while earning her bachelor’s degree in political science from Liberty University. Upon graduation, she was promoted to oversee the firm’s political campaign clients where she recruited and trained new fundraisers.
Pursuing her interest in protecting constitutional liberties, she accepted a position for the former Federal Election Commission Chairman, Brad Smith at his newly founded think tank, now called the Institute for Free Speech. Her work built the basis for a sustainable fundraising program using a highly persuasive foundation and major donor appeals, doubling the size of the organization.
Following her passion for the pro-life movement, Amanda served two stints at the Susan B. Anthony List. As the Vice President of Development, she worked to increase major donor outreach and build capacity within the department. Her efforts played a vital role in achieving the organization's most successful cycle in both fundraising and election efforts.
Before setting off on her own to form Movement Funding, Amanda served as Vice President at a nonprofit consulting firm where she helped organizations of various issue sets ranging from education reform, religious liberty, and economics to national defense. Over that time, every 12-month contract client achieved higher annual revenue than the previous year. This work encompassed many facets of fundraising including donor analysis, direct mail, foundation management, major gifts, development personnel needs, and training.
With the remainder of her time, Amanda can most likely be found at the ball field cheering on her sons or at their home in Bethesda, Maryland organizing the growing team for one of their many family adventures.
